The Ohio State University College of Medicine
- The Ohio State University offers a six-year combined general surgery/plastic surgery program. Completion of the entire six-year curriculum will qualify the trainee for the examinations of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
- Graduates of the program will assume positions in fellowship programs and in academic and community practice.

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF)
- UCSF plastic surgery residency is one of the oldest in the country. It is a six-year clinical program consisting of three years of training in general surgery followed by three years of specialty training in plastic surgery.

Stanford School of Medicine
- The Stanford Plastic Surgery Residency-Training Program is a comprehensive six-year program that covers all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The entire six-year training takes place in a group of affiliated hospitals in the Stanford area.
- The program is a participant of the National Intern and Resident Matching Program (NIRMP).
- Stanford is ranked 6th in the US News 2010 ranking of Best Medical Schools (Research).

Brown University
- The Brown University Residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was started in 1963 and it is the oldest Plastic Surgery training program in New England.
- This training program is based at the Rhode Island Hospital. It is a fully accredited, six-year coordinated program, with three years of general surgery, a transitional elective year and two years of plastic surgery.
