- The UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering is ranked 9th globally, according to the Academic Rankings of World Universities conducted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China (2009). Overall UCSD is rated the 3rd best public university in the U.S. and 14th among the world's best institutions.
