Ranking for Best Undergrad Teaching
US News & World Report provides the ranking for “Best Undergraduate Teaching”, and in the magazine's "Best Colleges 2010" rankings, Dartmouth College is ranked No. 1 in that category among national universities.
Dartmouth College
- The College has long prided itself on the quality of its undergraduate teaching among its Ivy League peers.
- Dartmouth professors are true teacher-scholars; even the most senior professors teach first-year courses.
The College of Wooster
- Wooster is the nation’s premier liberal arts college. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
- Named one of the top 10 colleges in America that “do the best job of teaching undergraduates”, according to a survey of college presidents, provosts, and admissions deans (U.S. News & World Report 2010 edition of America’s Best Colleges). The other liberal arts colleges that ranked in the top 10 for their commitment to teaching are Pomona, Swarthmore, Davidson, Oberlin, Earlham, Carleton, Haverford, Williams, and Reed.
Appalachian State University
- Appalachian is included in the magazine’s “Best Undergraduate Teaching” ranking (2010). The university is listed 6th in the category that includes eight public and private master’s-degree granting institutions in the South.
- It is also one of 186 colleges in the nation considered a best value for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review (2008 edition).
Miami University
- One of the eight original "Public Ivy" schools, Miami is known as one of the nation's top public undergraduate universities.
- Miami is ranked among the top universities in the country for its commitment to undergraduate teaching by U.S.News (2010 edition). It is tied for 8th, and among only 19 national universities cited for their strong commitment to teaching.
- It is also recognized as one of the nation's best undergraduate institutions for 2010, according to the Princeton Review's annual list.
