Top Social Psychology Programs

Ohio State University offers one of the top training programs in Social Psychology internationally. The program is tied for 2nd with Stanford in the US News Graduate School Rankings. In this program, students will receive broad exposure to the theories and methods of social psychology and acquire expertise in one or more specialty areas such as affect, attitude change, social cognition, attribution, automaticity interpersonal processes, and intergroup relations. Students are expected to develop skills in conceptual analysis of social behavior and social problems, research design, scholarly writing, data analysis, teaching, editorial reviewing and oral communication.

Yale is in the top 4 nationally for the specialty. The Social/Personality Psychology program at Yale University has focused on advancing both basic knowledge about intrapersonal and interpersonal processes. The program was concerned primarily with persuasion and attitude change.

UCLA's Psychology Department has developed leading programs in health and political psychology that are well integrated with the social psychology program. The social program also maintains close connections with the Institute for Social Science Research, the International Center for Talent Development, and UCLA's Schools of Education, Public Health, Nursing, etc.

Princeton University is rated 7th nationally for the specialty. The social program provides students with courses and research training across a broad range of areas within social psychology. Upon enrolling the program students become involved in a variety of research projects.
