James Cook University JCU Rankings

James Cook University (JCU) is a top leading tropical research university based in Townsville, Queensland (Australia). It is Queensland’s second oldest university with main campuses located in the coastal northern Queensland cities of Townsville and Cairns, and a capital city campus in Brisbane and an international campus in Singapore (JCUS). The Singapore Campus has been awarded the Singapore Quality Class award for Private Education Organizations.

James Cook University has been consistently placed in the top five tropical universities of the world for research performance in the areas of ecology/environment, plant and animal science, geosciences, coral reef science and tourism. It is a member of the Innovative Research Universities Australia.

- It is one of two Queensland universities and one of only 17 Australian universities made the list of the top 500 Universities in the world by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Ranking of World Universities 2009.
