Founded in 1966, Flinders University is a leading public university located in Adelaide, South Australia. It is a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU). It offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as advanced programs of research across all disciplines.

The University has the following Faculties:
- Faculty of Education, Humanities, Law and Theology

- The university made significant improvements in the Times Higher Education - QS World University Rankings, ranked 254th in 2009, up from 273rd in 2008 and 351st in 2007.

- Top 70 in Asia and in the range of 303-401th globally in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2009. It is placed in the same range as University of Newcastle, Tasmania and Wollongong.

- Placed among the World's Top 300 for the following subjects: Life Sciences & Biomedicine (241st) and Social Sciences (290th), according to THE-QS Rankiongs 2009.

- 22nd in the nation according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2009

- Placed among the Top 70 Institutions in Asia and Top 400 in the World by Shanghai Jiao Tong University's ARWU 2008.

- It is placed in the top 10 universities in Australia, in the top 64 universities in the Asia-Pacific region, and in the top 400 universities in the world (ARWU 2007).

- Flinders graduates have a higher full-time employment rate than both the national averages and South Australian (Graduate Careers Australia Graduate Destinations Data, 2006).

- Placed among the top 10 Australian universities in the ranking of international standing of Australian universities by The Melbourne Institute (2005).
