The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is a world-class research and teaching university situated in Kensington, NSW, Australia. It was founded in 1949 as the New South Wales University of Technology. The University is a member of Australia's "Group of Eight" leading research intensive universities, and a founding member of the Universitas 21 international consortium.

- The university was recognised for its outstanding performance in learning and teaching in the Australian Government's 2009 Learning and Teaching Performance Fund. It is ranked No. 1 for business, law and economics as well as for science, engineering, computing and architecture; and rated in the top A1 band for humanities, arts and education.

- The Faculty of Law is the only faculty of a public university in the nation to receive top rating across all categories of assessment in the Good Universities Guide 2009.

- The AGSM full time MBA ia rated the best in Australia and among the top 40 MBAs worldwide in the Financial Times rankings 2008.
