National Rankings and Awards:

- According to the Times Good University Guide, it is rated 31st in 2007, 25th in 2008, 31st in 2009 and 2010.

- According to the Complete University Guide, it is rated 29th in 2008, 38th in 2009, 35th in 2010 and 40th in 2011.

- 32nd in the Sunday Times University Guide 2008 (placed 31st in 2007).

- 45th in the Guardian University Guide 2011.

- 29th in the Daily Telegraph University Ranking (2007).

- 28th in the RAE Ranking by Research Power 2008. More than 87% of the University’s research rated as of international standing.

- 15 departments were awarded the rating of 5, while another five departments were awarded the top grade of 5* - Archaeology, English, Italian, Meteorology and Psychology (RAE 2001).

- According to the third annual National Student Survey (NSS), 88% of students were satisfied with their course at Reading – putting the university in the top 20 in England and in the top 23 nationally out of over 140 universities and HE colleges nationally.

- Awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 1998 and 2005.

- Winner of the Queen's Award for Export Achievement in 1989.
