  • Cardiff University - highly regarded as the best university in Wales. It is ranked 26th in The Times 2010 and 33rd in Guardian university league table 2009.
  • University of Glamorgan - 12 of the University's teaching areas have been rated as "excellent" in independent assessments.
  • Swansea University -  it is listed as one of the top 500 universities in the World at 401 to 500 in the 2006 SJTU Academic Ranking of World Universities.
  • Bangor University - over half of the academic departments at Bangor received an "Excellent" rating for the quality of teaching.
  • Aberystwyth University - ranked 2nd in Wales after Cardiff University. Its Computer science department is ranked 17th in the UK, and 1st in Wales according to the resent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008.
