According to the US News & World Report Liberal Arts Rankings, three colleges from California made it to the Top 20 list of Best Liberal Arts category. Pomona College is the highest ranked liberal arts college in the state (#1 in California and #6 nationally), followed by Claremont McKenna (#11 nationally) and Harvey Mudd (#14 nationally).
