Top Industrial Design Schools (US)
Art Center College of Design (commonly known as "Art Center") is one of the most famous institutions for art and design education. It took the top spot for Industrial Design, according to the US News rankings. Art Center is the first design school to receive United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status. The college is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. It offers undergraduate degree programs in advertising, entertainment design, film, fine art media, graphic design, illustration, photography, product design, environmental design, and transportation design. Graduate degree programs are offered in Fine Art, Media Design, Broadcast Cinema and Industrial Design.
The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is the second best Industrial Design School in the US. The Industrial Design Department offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of industrial design and a two-year Master of industrial design program.
In third place was the Carnegie Mellon University. It offers the program of Bachelor degree in Industrial Design. Carnegie Mellon's undergraduate industrial design program is rated second best in the country, according to the DesignIntelligence Magazine's rankings of architecture and design schools 2009.
