Cambridge was ranked 1st in the UK according to the Guardian University Guide 2017, followed by Oxford in 2nd place and St Andrews in 3rd place.

The University of Dundee was ranked 28th in this year’s overall rankings, up ten places from last year. The University had already jumped nine places from the 2015 edition to last year’s. In addition, Dundee was ranked No. 1 in Forensic Science & Archaeology and was in the top ten in Social Work (3rd), Dentistry (4th), Medicine (5th), Fashion & Textiles (7th) Law (8th), Art (9th), Economics (9th) and Physics (9th).

Lancaster University has risen two places to be ranked 8th in the Guardian University Guide 2017. In addition, a number of subjects were ranked in the top 10, including Business, Management and Marketing (8th ); Mechanical Engineering (2nd); Accounting and Finance(8th); Mathematics (6th); Sociology (4th);Religious Studies (10th);Geography and Environmental Studies (5th); Chemical Engineering(6th);Drama and Dance (5th) and History(7th).

City University London was ranked 18th (and 4th in London) in the Guardian University Guide 2017. Subject-specific rankings showed that City was number one in London and among the top 10 UK institutions for courses in Accounting & Finance, Business, Management & Marketing, Health Professions and Journalism.
