The St. Ambrose Teacher Education Program (TEP) has received statewide recognition for the quality of its programs and graduates. The College of Business has the following academic departments: accounting; communication; computer and information science; finance, economics, and decision sciences; industrial engineering; managerial studies; and marketing. The College offers undergraduate degrees in all areas and master’s degrees in accounting, business administration, information technology management, and organizational leadership, as well as a doctor of business administration degree. The St. Ambrose Industrial Engineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Teacher Education Program is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council. The entry-level DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program is nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The State Historical Society of Iowa awarded Ambrose a 2005 “Kids Count!” certificate of merit award for excellence in service to youth researchers.
