Founded in 1927, Montana State University - Billings (MSU-Billings) is a comprehensive, regional University offering a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the following academic colleges: the College of Allied Health Professions, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Professional Studies and Lifelong Learning, and the College of Technology.

Montana State University Billings is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. It is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education for preparing elementary and secondary teachers and school counselors through the Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees as well as the Master of Science in Special Education degree.

The University is also accredited by the following specialized accrediting agencies: Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education; National Association of Schools of Music; Council on Rehabilitation Education; National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
