Kent State University (KSU) is a world-class institution of higher education and one of the largest universities in Ohio. It is consistently ranked among the world's best institutions by international publications.

- Kent State University is ranked 194th among the National Universities (US News 2012). The National Universities category consists of the 280 institutions (172 public, 101 private and seven for-profit) that offer a wide range of undergraduate majors as well as master's and doctoral degrees.

- Kent State University is ranked 401-500th globally in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2011.

- Times Higher Education has ranked Kent State as one of the top 200 universities in the world (2010-11 World University Rankings). It was the only public research university in Northeast Ohio to be awarded the honor and one of only four in the state of Ohio to make the list, along with Case Western Reserve University, The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati.

- The Princeton Review has named Kent State's College of Business Administration and Graduate School of Management to its The Best 300 Business Schools: 2011 Edition guide.

- The College of Business undergraduate program has earned a ranking of 159th, earning a top-tier spot on the USNWR “2011 Best Business Programs” list.

- Ranked by the Carnegie Foundation as one of the top 77 public research universities in the US and one of the top 76 in community engagement.

- The University's Fashion School was ranked 3rd in the country and 13th in the world by the online fashion magazine Fashionista.com. The Fashion School is one of only 13 member schools in the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

- For the fifth consecutive year, Kent State University was named one of the best universities to attend in the Midwest, being included in The Princeton Review's 2007 guide to “The Best Midwestern Colleges”.

- In its second annual college rankings, Washington Monthly magazine has ranked KSU 56th among the 245 national public and private universities.

- London-based CEO magazine ranked the Kent State University College of Business Administration's EMBA program in its Tier-One, the magazine's highest ranking, for colleges in North America.

- Kent State University's Counselor Education program in the College of Education, Health and Human Services has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by the Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index.
