Best Regional Colleges in the North 2017
Cooper Union is ranked No. 1 among the Best Regional Colleges in the North by U.S. News and World Report 2017 rankings, followed by United States Coast Guard Academy in 2nd place and United States Merchant Marine Academy in 3rd place.
Vermont Tech is ranked 15th among the Best North Regional Colleges for 2017 in the annual best college rankings published by U.S. News & World Report. In the public college category, Vermont Tech ranks 8th in the North region, making it one of the top 15 public colleges in the north for the fifth year in a row. The college is also ranked 7th in the North region among the Best Colleges for Veterans. Vermont Tech is one of just two Vermont schools to rank in the Veteran's, best northern regional colleges and best public college categories.
The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) was named among the 50 Best Regional Colleges in the North, the 15 Top Public Schools in the North, and the top 10 Regional Colleges in the North for graduates with least debt. In its Best Regional Colleges in the North ranking, UMPI was listed as 27th, moving up 13 spots and earning first tier status.
