The School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds achieved an impressive 1st place in the league table (tied for 1st position with Imperial College), further cementing the University of Leeds' reputation as one of the leading institutions for mechanical engineering in the UK.

Mechanical Engineering programmes at the University of Southampton were ranked number 4 in the Guardian University Guide 2016. They were also ranked number 1 in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham has risen from 13th to 6th in the Guardian League Tables 2016. This ranking further builds on the University’s recent strong league table performances in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey and The Complete University Guide.

Heriot-Watt University was ranked 2nd in Scotland and 10th in the UK for mechanical engineering in the 2016 Guardian University league tables.

Lancaster University was ranked 13th in the UK for mechanical engineering in the Guardian University League Tables 2016. It was also ranked 7th in the UK for mechanical engineering in the Times Higher Education Listing 2016.
