U.S. News Best Hospitals List 2010-2011

The Johns Hopkins Hospital tops the U.S. News & World Report "Honor Roll" in the 2010-2011 rankings of the best U.S. hospitals. It is ranked No. 1 in five medical specialties and in the top 3 in 7 others:
- Ear, Nose & Throat (1st)
- Gynecology (1st)
- Neurology and Neurosurgery (1st)
- Urology (1st)
- Rheumatology (1st)
- Kidney Disorders (2nd)
- Ophthalmology (2nd)
- Psychiatry (2nd)
- Diabetes and Endocrinology (3rd)
- Gastroenterology (3rd)
- Geriatrics (3rd)
- Heart & Heart Surgery (3rd)

Other institutions rounding out the Honor Roll top 10 were, in rank order, Mayo Clinic; Massachusetts General Hospital; Cleveland Clinic; Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center; New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell; University of California, San Francisco Medical Center; Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University, St. Louis; Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; and Duke University Medical Center.

The Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital (THI at SLEH) has been ranked among the top 10 centers in the nation for heart and heart surgery for the 20th consecutive year, moving up a place from 5th to 4th in this year rankings. It is the only heart center in Houston and the Southwest to be listed in the top 10 by the magazine. St. Luke’s also placed among the nation’s leading hospitals in Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Kidney Disorders and Urology.

Emory University Hospital is positioned among the nation's best hospitals in 11 specialties. It is one of only 152 hospitals out of more than 4,800 medical centers in the country to be named in even one of the magazine's top 50 specialty rankings - with only Atlanta's Shepherd Center joining the national ranking from Georgia.
